Sassential Care (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent in-home support and pet care service based in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. We provide personalised support services to seniors, self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants, and individuals requiring additional support across Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
We are committed to protecting the privacy and confidentiality of the personal information we collect and handle. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and disclose personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs). By engaging our services or providing personal information to us, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy.
Personal information: full name, date of birth, address, phone number and email address, emergency contact details, support requirements and preferences, NDIS plan information where applicable.
Health and support information: health or medical information relevant to providing safe support, disability-related information, mobility, communication or behavioural support needs.
Pet care information: pet names, veterinary details and care requirements, behavioural or medical information relevant to pet care services.
Financial information: billing and payment details, plan manager details where relevant.
Directly from you or your authorised representative; through intake forms and service agreements; via phone calls, emails or meetings; and from support coordinators, plan managers or healthcare professionals where appropriate and authorised.
To deliver safe and personalised support services, communicate regarding services and appointments, coordinate supports with relevant providers where required, process invoices and payments, meet legal and compliance obligations, and improve the quality of our services. We only use information for the purpose it was collected or for related purposes reasonably expected in delivering support services.
Some information we collect may be considered sensitive information under Australian privacy laws, including health and disability-related information. We collect and handle sensitive information only where reasonably necessary for providing services and take reasonable steps to maintain confidentiality and privacy.
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Information may be stored in password-protected electronic systems, in secure cloud-based software platforms used for scheduling, invoicing and client management, and in secure physical records where required. Only authorised persons have access to personal information relevant to their role.
We do not sell or trade personal information. Information may be disclosed to plan managers, support coordinators or healthcare professionals involved in your supports where appropriate; to third-party service providers assisting with business operations under confidentiality obligations; where required or authorised by law; and in emergency situations where necessary to protect health or safety. We do not intentionally disclose personal information to overseas recipients.

Sassential Care supports self-managed and plan-managed NDIS participants. We are currently not a registered NDIS provider. Information relating to NDIS participants is handled respectfully and in accordance with applicable privacy and NDIS requirements.
